Pressure Washing Tips

Can I use hot water in a `coldŽ pressure washer?
Peter J. Beranger asks "Can you use hot water from a sink to your cold pressure washer?"

Harold: Many pressure washers allow up to 140 degree hot water through their pumps. Some pressure washer manufactures have special seal kits you can install that allow up to 190 degrees of water. Keep in mind that doing so increases the maintenance level of your machine.

For your washer check with the manufacturer for the actual temperature allowed. It should be in the manual you received with the unit.

  • Can I draw water from an upressurized water source?
  • What kind of oil should I use in my pump?
